I experimented with different material spheres and ended up applying the Blinn material with high transparency and diffuse settings to make the icy feel. I initially wanted to make the objects have more opaque materials so it would look more like milk with faint variation in color, but I couldn't get to the look that I liked. Overall a good learning experience.
